In perfect conditions in Magheragallon both teams played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Kilmacrenan scoring a penalty to equalize with 5 minutes to go.
It took 20mins of play till there was a shot on target with Kilmacrenan going closest when Nelis was through on goal but his shot shot well saved by Danny McGarvey in the Gweedore goals. Gweedores John Sweeney had a good chance to break the deadlock when he beat two players but the resulting shot was straight at the keeper. Gweedores Eamonn Doogan finally broke the deadlock when Cathal Campbell teed him up and Doogan blasted into the top corner from the edge of the box to make it 1-0 Gweedore.
Kilmacrenan were on level terms soon after the break when Johnny Neilis fired in an unstoppable shot from 20yards out on 55mins. Gweedore had to play out the final half hour with ten men when John Sweeney went off injured with all their subs used. Despite this Gweedore where on top and took a deserved lead on 80mins when Joe Boner broke the offside and slotted the ball home from 20yards. 2-1 Gweedore. 5 mins later Kilmacrenan were awarded a penalty when a Gweedore defender handled in the area. Sean Sandilions slotted home the resulting penalty to make it 2-2.
